A Winter Solstice Gathering

Celebrating The Light in the Dark

December 21 @ 6:00 pm11:59 pm

A social gathering for kindred spirits. Come as you are, when you are able & stay for as long or short as you want.

A time to just BE, reflect on the past year, and celebrate the return of The Light.

Art talk, life sharing, friendship & light refreshments. I’ll have some wine & herbal tea available.

“If our life is poured out in useless words we will never hear anything in the depths of our hearts, where Christ lives and speaks in silence. We will never be anything, and in the end, when the time comes for us to declare who and what we are, we shall be found speechless at the moment of the crucial decision: for we shall have said everything and exhausted ourselves in speech before we had anything to say.” —THOMAS MERTON, “NO MAN IS AN ISLAND”

“A major obstacle to creativity is wanting to be in the peak season of growth and generation at all times . . . but if we see the soul’s journey as cyclical, like the seasons . . . then we can accept the reality that periods of despair or fallowness are like winter – a resting time that offers us a period of creative hibernation, purification, and regeneration that prepare us for the births of spring.”
—Linda Leonard, The Call to Create

“The Winter Solstice is another profound moment of pause and turning in the great cycle of the year.” ~Christine Valters Paintner, PhD
